I'd be inclined to go with a 460 768MB card as your physX w/that much GPU power though ... although I'd not go out and buy one as there's so few games that support HW PhysX it's really not worth it. Not to mention the hassles involved with the AMD/PhysX hack.

Nah, My backplate should be coming Saturday and I plan on OCing to 4GHz to get rid of a CPU bottleneck. I am thinking about it as I might be getting hired and I am only 16 so I have money to blow. I was thinking after I get water and a full tower it'd be an upgrade I'd want along with an SSD. So the 460 768MB would be pull it off? I want physx kind of for Metro 2033 and other games that might have it.

Some useful links: i submitted my own benchmark results. but here are some of other people pairing together different nvidia cards with eachother as well as Hybrid AMD/nvidia gpu physx.

Have fun paying for a card useless for 99% of games today.

Not the biggest down for me. I love metro and want it's physx.

I was just saying that LIKE is the case with CPU's, how much physX card you need to avoid BN'ing is dependent on the app you're running, and the settings you run it at. Not saying YOU have a CPU BN

And yeah, I think the 460 is the absolute MOST card anybody needs for PhysX.

Thread Starter
the quadcore cpu's might do better job? 3ghz - 4ghz would do better physics calculations?

does the amount of memory matter

these questions have already been answered in the benchmarks i linked...

285 is really overkill for physX, esp. since there's so few physX titles on the market. I would sell it and, if you decide you actually need a physX card with your 570's in SLI, you'll have the funds to do so ... then get something a lot cheaper
