Patient comes in via helicopter evac, more or less dead. His heart stopped as the heli was landing at the Mayo so they got him onto a stretcher and started rushing him to the OR. My brother in law knew he would never make it that long with his heart completely stopped, it might have taken them minutes to even get paddles on him from where they were at that point...and paddles can't actually do much for a completely stopped heart anyway.

He jumped onto the guys gurney, pulled out a scalpel and slit through his ribs. Then stuck his hands into the guy's chest cavity and manually pumped his heart with his hand to keep him alive. The man lived because of Bruce's actions.

Afterwards, he tried to sue Bruce for breaking his ribs.

I'm guessing hed didn't win that.

When you perform CPR it's more likely than not that the ribs will break. If people could sue for that there wouldn't be any EMTs left.

Now tell me if I have cancer!

This computer is bound to be correct more often than those idiot doctors.

Technically, the thing was correct...

Oh hell no he didn't win, but the mere fact that he'd even try is just so sad and honestly disgusting.

This man saved your goddam life. Literally saved your life. All it cost you was a couple broken ribs...I'd invite him and his family over for a nice dinner every year and make a donation in his name.

I know a bouncer (security, doorman - dunno how you refer to the guys that stand on the door outside clubs in the US of A) who was taken to court by a girl. He pushed her out of the way of a falling beam in the club, was hit by the beam himself, and was informed of the court case whilst he was still in hospital afterwards.

The judge actually laughed at the girl in court. But again it's the fact it got that far in the first place that is the really sad part.

Besides, if something goes wrong, you can't sue the computer for malpractice tongue.gif.

You should be less uneasy than a computer which has been given all the available information diagnosing you than one doctor, even backed up by other colleagues. They won't consider all the available information, while a computer, theoretically, could.
