holy $! Nice OC. Bless you Asus.

for a device like this though, I don't care about OCing just for the sake of OCing, it's a tablet. are there actual real world gains from this OC?

Cool device, but I don't want Android on my laptop, just like I don't want Windows on my phone/tablet. Hopefully Windows 8 will fill this gap, but I'm not counting on it.

Yes. On Honeycomb you can film and do minor editing on the tablet itself, so you can have faster conversions.

Cool beans, just got my Transformer and used this OC kernel. Now it's running better in media conversion and playback. Will get to 1.5 GHz if it's stable. :3

And this is exactly the problem of a device like this. It is not a laptop replacement. It is a tablet with a physical keyboard. There are four things fighting against each other. It is the x86 processor vs. the ARM. It is also a fully functional OS vs. the touch and go, app based OS's. All are entwined. I use Android and Windows on a daily basis and there are parts I love and parts I hate of both. Apple? Ick. Maybe upping the RAM and running a virtual Android on one of these devices would be ideal at this point.

Don't you void your warranty by rooting anyway? If you're going to root (which does have substantial benefits), then the only real question is whether or not you are willing to trade off battery life for processing speed (which can make things run smoother, though I assume that this benefit will be minimized as Honeycomb gets optimized by future patches). I've got my Xoom overclocked without taking much of a hit to the battery.

Not really an epeen thing either, since all I did is follow some instructions. I take about as much pride in my overclocked Xoom as I do in my ability to take aspirin without killing myself. It's not much of an accomplishment.
