You should check out the FAQ in my sig. But if you're using ATI adding a physx card can only improve performance.

The computer it's from is an old HP M9515f. It's a 9600GS 768MB, and I can't find out more because the fan's dead, so it overheats and goes into thermal shutdown before the OS finishes loading. That is, it would if I had it with me, which I don't at the moment. But I will next week when I bring my computer to Biloxi.

There's no way that card comes close to a 8800GTS. From what I remember those cards had 320bit memory and 640mb.

I'd say a cheap 8800GT or 9800GT will do the job.
