The RS is supposed to be ~14 FPI.
*EDIT* So I think I worked it out between the thickness and FPI differences that the RX has ~5% more fin surface area than the RS. While this isn't all that much of a difference, the RX fins are spaced much further apart, allowing for higher CFM to pass through and therefore has a higher cooling capacity than the RS. This is true at all fan speeds but even more pronounced at the lower speeds.
I believe (not 100% sure on this) that the RX is supposed to be a bit less restrictive than the RS as well, allowing for higher flow rates and more water to be cooled, further improving its performance over the RS.Edited by whiteslashasian - 5/26/11 at 12:32pm
