What OCN's opinion for this combination? (CPU + mobo)

I am planning on upgrading my current rig (really crappy, built it years ago). I am on a budget currently since I am going to school full time. Was looking at getting an AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz w/ an ASUS M4A785-M. Would this be a good combination?

If that's all your budget allows for, I think it's a good combo, but if your budget allows for more, you might want to go with Sandy Bridge build, since you're getting a new mobo and CPU anyway. What's your budget?

Whoa! I should have asked you this before: are you willing to buy used?

There's an OCN member selling his i5-750 for $130! That leaves $120-140 for a mobo, which is pretty good if you ask me.

Great find! I find it funny that the bundle states the original price for the 2500K is $249.99!

Newegg sells it for $224.99 (which I BELIEVE is the MSRP), and MicroCenter sells it for $179.99 I believe.

I'd go for this if you can't get the microcenter bundle the others mentioned.

You can't go wrong with a nice 140 dollar board and a good chip like the 750!
