Need a gaming headset, $130 budget

Unfortunately, it has to be from Best Buy. I have a Logitech G930 from best buy and since it is wireless it keeps disconnecting... It is driving me insane.

I don't mind spending $20 more as long as it is a really nice headset.

One other thing I can do is sell my G930 to my friend for $110 and get something from Amazon but I would rather return this to Best Buy and get something else.

What do you guys recommend? It has to be PC compatible since I will use it for my pc. One contender I found is the Tritton AX 720 headset. It looks nice and has amazing reviews. Anyone have and experience with it?

Check out this post, in the audio forums, from a week ago.

Basically, don't get a headset. You'd be much better off with a Audio Technica ATH-AD700, Zalman mic, and a dedicated sound card such as the Asus Donar DG/DS/DX.

Sell your headset to your friend and buy something from Amazon that will be worth your money.

I will be using onboard sound for now, until I can afford nice sound card.

The Asus Xonar DS would be just fine for your purposes, and is only $40 (after MIR) on Newegg. You don't need a $100 or $200 sound card to make a pair of headphones sound great.

I would go as far as saying that there is no point investing in headphones over $50 (if that) if you don't have a dedicated sound card. There is a night and day difference between integrated and dedicated.

If a sound card fits in your budget as of now, I really recommend buying it.

Audio Technica AD700's at Best Buy for $93 and a Zalman clip-on mic (or if you must purchase from BB, get a standard desktop mic like this one)

Hmm. My G930 only ever disconnects if I go too far away, general use they're everything I could ask for. Granted, I grabbed mine off Newegg for $70 (New). If I had to guess, your computer is too close to a 2.4GHz wireless phone.

If you're set on leaving the G930, I'll echo Porter_'s reccomendation of the AD700s with a clip on.

The USB version or the 3.5mm version?
Comes in both. the 3.5 are the 80 buck ones. USB are 10 bucks more. I have the 3.5. Its the HS1A.

They are really nice. Braided/long cable. comes with foam and leather ear pads.
