I took old numbers.

I just checked fresh ones.

2500k @ 260$
2600k @ 285$.

About the same difference, 25$..

Not in Scandinavia, comrade. I don't know Swedish prices, but Danish prices are around $270.

EDIT: Ninja'd. But those are some interesting i7 prices.

Are you sure it's a 2600K? I'd have to pay $370 for an i7 2600K.

It doesn't make any sense that you're getting the 2500k for 260$ and the 2600k for ONLY 25$ more.

It's impossible. Intel has these CPUs tiered into different performance segments, and they would never be priced so closely.

There's supposed to be a 100$ gap between those 2 CPUs.

Yeah, some webstores here do offer them for ~2400sek and others for ~2000sek. Where the 2500k's goes for anything between 1400-1700sek.

That with free shipping and 15-25% discounts gets me at quite low prices.

It's most likely just for the summer to bring more suckers into the SB wheel

PS. The dollar is not what it used to be. To sum it up short.

Wait, so you get discounts on the i7's, but not the i5's? 2000 SEK = $320.

Nope exactly. Free shipping hence the membership of a swedish OC forum, and then there's a stupid thing that makes everything above, I think it is 1500SEK give you a discount.

At first I thought it was a 15-25% no matter the amount ordered, so I ended up paying quite alot for a few refills to my printer ^_^

But they won't fool me a 2nd time lol

Edit:

I just looked. It's over 1800SEK (minimum). The 2600K is ~2300SEK. The 2500K is 1700.
So its basically at the limit. And very much depends on WHAT you order.

GPUs = no discounts. Unless you order a huge amount. Cooling equipment also has no discounts etc.
It's mostly pure hardware, motherboards, CPUs, RAM memory etc. But no "extra" hardware like harddrives, monitors etc.

All in all. The difference for a _regular_ person here in Sweden would be ~600SEK. And that's 95$. So almost at the 100$ difference.

--------

However back to the subject.
I'll post some news once it's here.

I need to make some sort of "checklist". Like what to begin with, vcore or temps.. I suppose vcore does MOST damage, so it'd be interesting to see if it degrades by just running HOT.
