They're all Zalman F3's I think, apart from one which is the blue LED equivalent Zalman.

Fans don't matter for power consumption. I would say the your rig + 965 would equate to about 365 watts of consumption max load.

Fans consume next to nothing, unless you have loads of 3k+ RPM 120mm's.

A good 650w will power two 6870's easily.

Anyway, your current PSU is adequate for the 965, especially if you're not overclocking.

It's going to be a 955 now, as it's I can afford that more easily and can put the money toward something else.

I'll keep my existing PSU.

With my current PSU and a 955, would I be OK adding an extra HDD, or maybe an SSD at some point?

SSD's consume <1w and HDD's around 10w, so yeah.

No. SSD power consumption is usually measured in milliwatts. Most I see state a max power consumption of around 1300-1600mW (1.3-1.6W) and an average power consumption under 800mW.

Laptop HDDs usually have a spin-up load of 10-15W and an idle load of 4-7W, depending on model and speed.

If that's true, then it makes no sense because the reason why solid state drives consume [much] less power is because of the lack of moving parts. I mean, a hard disk drive requires extra power just for the motor alone not to mention the arm(s) that swing(s) around to read the disk(s) inside. After all, hard disk drives are mechanical devices while solid state drives are just chips on a PCB!
