sadly no Single card/Single GPu is really enough for me..

if i could get a GTX 580 for 380$ i would.... but both GTX 560's and 6870's in 2 way will smash a GTX 580.

Can't you just buy a 570/480/6970 for 1080p? They'll handle it easily. It makes no sense to add multi gpu problems into the mix when you can afford a relatively high-end GPU.

No sense in buying 2 mid range cards, unless you buy one earlier on and want to maximize performance with a cheaper add in instead of selling and replacing.

Not sure the extra money for the 560 ti is worth it since it's not really all that much faster then the 6870/560 when games are maxed.

the 480 is to loud.. the 570 isnt fast enough for me.. the 6970 again.. isnt fast enough..

Problems with GPU's dont really happen with 2X midrange cards.. and i found dual midrange crds to be amazing...

for les then 400$ you can get a pair of cards that will rock a 500$ GTX 580....

will this 6970 be faster then a GTX 580? didnt think so.

i could grab 2X 560's or 2X 6870's and both setup's would DOMINATE the6970 and GTX 580 at 1080p...

I don't get why you want too mid range cards over a single high end card. more power consumption, driver issues, games scaling with more than one card issues, heat issues, etc. But whatever it's ur money. 2 6870 or 2 560 are neck and neck. AMD wins some Nvidia wins some. It's up to you.
