GTX 560ti problems.

Hi All,

Im having a bit of trouble upgrading my GPU; im coming from a GTX 260 and have just put in a GTX 560 ti, the only problem is Windows refuses to boot. I can get it to post, but usually a screen coming up that says AHCI not installed, and the other times when i try to change settings at the bios, it gets stuck at the logo screen for the mobo and freezes.

When i change the settings in the bios i make sure that it boots pcie first, but when i save those settings and restart, thats when it freezes at logo screen. The only way i get it to post and the AHCI message comes up is when i clear the cmos.

im using pcie plugins, and ive checked the connections, theyre good. im hoping the psu isn't going bad its only 1 year old, and my computer worked fine literally 2 days ago before switching the gpu.

Every time i clear the cmos it posts, but it never gets to the windows screen but rather a black screen saying "AHCI not installed...defaults loaded", but it just sits at that screen and doesn't change.

One thing i did notice was that in the bios, my second hard drive without the OS is set to first boot priority but everytime i change i and save and exit, when i reboot it gets stuck at the mobo logo screen, although it gives me a post beep....

Edit:
Ok well ive made some progress...I got my system to boot up normally and load windows, now everything works fine, but this is only because i took ONE OUT OF THE TWO STICKS OF RAM OUT, and left the furthest one from the cpu in.
I honestly have no idea what this means and why it works with just one stick, any help would be nice.

Im sure I read this post yesterday... and it had a whole heap of replies...

I have no idea why you would get "AHCI not installed...defaults loaded" message with a bad stick of ram

Anyways, have you tried booting with the other stick of ram you removed? You might what to run MEMTEST a few times on each stick and see if they are good.

Apart from that... its a mystery wrapped in an enigma.
