Alright guys. When I left for school this morning I attempted to stabilize my rig at 4.6 GHz and it looks like it rebooted at some point since I left. Should I keep trying to stabilize 4.6, or should I just go back to 4.5 and do bigadv? I kind of felt like we were just messing around for the rest of month...

If you guys think I should go back to 4.5 stable and fold bigadv and call it good, I'll do that.

Install on host? Does that mean install in Windows or VMWare? Also, *nix = Linux?

Install on host? Does that mean install in Windows or VMWare? Also, *nix = Linux?
I mean as in, you install the remote control application on the machine that hosts the VM...so that you can do anything that you need to do with the VM without needing to wait and wonder what is going on...

For example, if you install TV on the VM, if/as/when you want/need to restart it, you might be sitting there wondering what the frack it is doing while you wait to connect for a few minutes - and if it fails to boot/load for any reason, then you're stuck not knowing what is going on...

Installing on the M$ machine that hosts your *nix (yes, that does include Linux) VM, then you can see if it has an issue starting the VM up, and you would still be able to see what is going on in the VM and make any changes needed remotely...

I would make up my mind and decide on what OC and temps I want, and then start from there. The key thing in making your chip lasts is the load temps(obviously), you need to keep it low as much as possible. It doesn't matter if you put 1.52v if your load temp is below 75c. BUT looking on your cooler, I don't think it can handle anything past 4.8ghz. I mean that clock(4.8ghz) is already pushing it to the limits.

Be happy at 4.5ghz.

Code:
cd ./F@H/SMP
./fah6 -smp 8 -bigadv -verbosity 9
or

Code:
~/F@H/SMP//fah6 -smp 8 -bigadv -verbosity 9
Bear in mind that I'm just going from memory, but it is something similar to that...
I tried the first code that you provided, and it worked, except I have to enter all of my info in again. Username, folding team, passkey, etc. Can anyone tell me what I can do to fix this?

EDIT Okay this is weird. When I went through the whole thing (re-entering all the info), it says "[15:41:00] Could not write MyFolding.html." I then proceeded to use "sudo ./fah6 -smp 4 -bigadv -verbosity 9" and then it worked. Weird.

Just set up TeamViewer. It rocks! Folding bigadv at 4.5 GHz.

When you guys get a chance, can you help me with my previous dilemma?

Can anyone tell me why this is? I'm the only user, and I made sure to check that I'm an admin. What gives?

Without seeing the Terminal window/s it might be difficult to assess...

Having said that, it could be that your .sh script has -config in it, or that the path didn't *exactly* match....

K thanks Nude Man. It's kind of a moot point, since I don't really need to understand why it does what it does. All I need to know is that it's doing what it's supposed to do.
