Yeah maybe that's the pricing down your way. I'm up in mass and I got ours pretty cheap. And like I said the ones I got have coax, telephone and ethernet jacks and are 10 plug I believe. 1 Master 7switched and 2 always on ? Not 100% sure on the set-up but I know they were wicked cheap. Might've been alil more like $20-25 but I know they weren't more than that. I'll ask my wife when she calls me how much the were as I'm not home.
Edit: What I meant by remote was the IR you mentioned. The ones I'm talking about don't use a remote to turn the rest of the strip on and off. They have some type of circuitry that senses when whatever is plugged into the main plug shuts off and shuts off the rest. And also does the same on turning it on. They have a sensitivity knob on the side you can adjust if the switched plugs don't kick on or if they shut off without you turning off the main item like from a power surge or something. No IR or timers or whatnot just a plain old power strip with built-in surge protector and smart power technology to turn on and off other items. I'll let you guys know the brand of mine when I speak to my wife. You also gotta remember to the stores like home depot and wal-mart and such are horrible for keeping up their inventory on their websites. I have gone to a specific store looking for something they said they had in stock online and they not have it. And they also don't always show everything they have. I guess since they're not an online only business they really don't put as much effort into their websites.
