New Build

Hey guys,
About time for a new system soon. Mine is from 2007 and still running amazingly, but it's getting time for something new. Plus, my girlfriend wants to start doing more PC gaming, so I'll give her my current rig. I wanted to keep it around $700. Also, getting Windows 7 from school so that's why it wont be on there. My build as I have it on Newegg now:

ASUS DVD/CD Burner - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827135204

Cooler Master Centurion 5 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119077

Western Digital Caviar Blue 500gb - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136073

EVGA 460 GTX SE - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130591

Corsair Enthusiast Series 650W - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139005

G-Skill 4gb DDR3 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231193

ASRock P67 Extreme4 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157229

Intel Core i5-2500k - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115072

Total= $788.92 w/o shipping
$809.01 w/ shipping

Now, I can also switch out the i5 with the i3 2100, which would drop the price down to $688.92, or $709.01 w/ shipping. So pretty much a $100 difference. I figure everyone would tell me that it's worth it to go ahead and get the 2500k, but I also don't mind to wait a few months for a price drop. And I also plan to upgrade the GPU to something better around October, right before BF3 and Skyrim.

Thoughts on the build?

Nice and simple. Everyone will say go with i5. It would be stupid not to. Especially how well it preforms.

The PSU will be fine now, but what happens if you go to say 2 X 580's or something like that? 650 won't cut it then. I myself try to think of what's going to happen if I upgrade. Will my PSU be able to handle it?

Two other things though. Don't go with 500GB you will regret it. 1TB shouldn't be much more anyways. Also if you have more cash lying around an SSD will be fantastic and will be a massive boost to OS preformance.

I'm not sure if I would use SLI though. I see the benefit of it, but I think I like sticking with one card. Though that may change farther down the line.

I could go to this Caviar Black 640gb - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136319

But even if I go with the 500gb, I can always upgrade later. I'm trying to get into it first and then upgrade as I go.
