Pump Mounting Location

I'm planning on mounting my EK pump with the EK mounting kit on top of the HDD block. I was just thinking, will the pump vibrations possibly damage the HDDs?

It's doubtful, the vibrations from the pump are marginal.

However, I'd probably put it elsewhere anyway due to leakage.

Neh the pump vibrations aren't that bad. I had mine mounted on top of my HDD cage for over a year.

I would probably not mount the pump directly to the waterblock on top of the hard drive, although in the past, I have mounted the pump directly to the hard drive cage/bays without any problems.

You won't experience any EMI interference with the hard drives either in case you're wondering about that as well.

If you insist upon mounting the pump directly to the hard drive waterblock, please make sure you use ample vibration insulating/dampening materials. The pump vibrations probably won't have any ill effects on the drives, but I'd rather be safe than sorry so that I don't end up with a dead HDD somewhere down the line

Sorry, I couldn't think of a good name to call it. I mean the HDD cage that holds the three drives in a 5.25" bay. I would never mount it directly to a drive or waterblock. This is the kit that came with my pump to mount it (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...787e3a2802f63d)

It'll work just fine. I'd put some vibration dampening just for noise tho. Btw hdds smoke when the get wet. Lost a few to a leak. Really thick smoke
