It's easy man.. just get a bunch of qtips.. poor some of the alcohol in the cap of the bottle. dip the qtip in and gently start cleaning up the AS5. I usually go through a lot of qtips but they are cheap and you want to make sure you get both the cpu and hsf clean.

Just take your time when removing TIM. All will be ok. Be patient and use a few q-tips to remove the compound from the CPU and HSF. Then apply a small dot in the middle (grain of rice/pea size). The pressure applied when mounting the cooler will spread the thermal compound evenly.

Well I reapplied the thermal compound and saw a slight difference. But the ambient was a differnet temp so that figures. After 2 hours of prime95 I'm hitting a 65-68c max from the two different tests. I guess I should knock it back down to 4.0ghz it was sub 60's then
