High temps for water cooling??

Thread Starter
My current overclock isnt bad, but temps are in the 80s under load, so I wanted to try a new overclock, see if I can get lower v-core to lower the temps. Aiming for 4.0-4.2 as an overclock depending on volts and temps.
Let me know if these are normal or too high.

Attachment 212518

Ambient temps: 23
idle temps: 37,39,40,35
load: 69,69,66,63
v-core: 1.272 everything else in bios set manual to regular freq.
overclocked currently at 3.8

swiftech micro res
swiftech mcr320 (6 yate loon high speed fans)
swiftech mcp655
swiftech apogee gtz

Let me know guys, also any suggestions to replace current h2o gear highly appreciated.

Well,

The extra memory you've got could be hindering your overclock. Tbh I would probably try removing 6gb and then overclocking to see if you can get a lower vcore.

Coolermaster PSU's aren't great either tbh, a better quality PSU might get a couple of 0. volts off. That's the least of the issues though

The radiator is in the lower end of the market of 360mm rads. I'm pretty sure the 240mm Black ice xtreme would yeild better temps.

Sorry, also try a 21x180 multiplier

Do you have some spare cash for an upgrade then?

could be a bad mount, I get 65* with 24* ambient

i7 920 @ 4.2 and 1.395 volts

The crappy radiator and probably a configuration somewhere.

I think the multiplier change could help.

Oh no I 100% give you credit for making the jump to watercooling. I wasn't trying to be mean or anything, but I don't see the point in sugar coating it.
