They just make cheap PSU's that are going to burn out, degrade, or both. Take your pick, they use cheap parts and have some bad business practices. Though people are all up on their D for Vertex 3, even after the botched Vertex 2 debacle.

Also I just noticed, you got a 700W...That's overkill, probably only need 550W max for that build.

Yeah, I am, piece by piece. To be honest, I'm not a huge gamer/overclocker or anything. I am interested in it, but I'm also not losing any sleep over it.

I figured once I find the right price point for me, I'll get a better 1155 chip and go from there, I have another 1155 mobo from the first purchase and some 1333 RAM (that didn't play nice with the Sector 5 timings in Memtest) so I could always put this i5 into that and build a second unit for a friend or something in a few months or a year.

Oh ok, well thanks for the info. At the time I got it, it was on sale with a massive rebate, so it came out to less than some other 600w I saw, so I got it. Didn't realize they had such a bad reputation. My brother has had an OCz in his box for awhile and hasn't had any problems... fingers crossed I guess.

Thank you for the good faith :-) I hope the PSU holds out, everything else I am happy with (just wish I had the 2500k is all.) I LOVE this GPU, the memory has been great, overall very happy. And the 2400 is a great chip if you don't want to overclock, its cold and fast. I'm happy I squeezed what I can out of it, will keep me going for awhile. Will just keep me out of a few clubs on here ;-)

Ya you will be fine, I'm mostly just looking to get the biggest bang for the buck. Generally, if I can get a huge performance increase for a few bucks more I will go for it (2400 vs 2500k). I also like to stress quality components with long warranties, OCZ has had a long line of failures so most tend to stay away from them.

I'm out, so good luck, and hope everything turns out well.

I'll assume you have the same PSU as me. If so, its a great PSU. Sure, its not gonna hold 100% loads as good as the corsairs, antecs and... wait, they do. If you do some research (its hard to find good PSU reviews for this model). It's efficiency was as rated, the only issue was when running very hot 55C or something, the ripple got a little bit uncomfortable, nothing huge or dangerous, but not the best either.

Miles above cheaper brands and much cheaper than Corsairs and such, its a good PSU, don't worry.

Don't let people get you worrying. The ModXStream Pro series is one of the PSU Lines from OCZ that isn't garbage. They will hold their rated wattage fine, as long as they aren't on fire.

I got a 600w version, the first one the fan died (my fault, I kept messing with it) OCZ advanced RMA'd me a new one in 2 days.
