[EDIT] You're gonna laugh at this. The fan controller's temperature sensor got caught inbetween the heatsinks and the processor. I moved it out from there and everything works fine.

I've been getting this error message:

*** STOP: 0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0x82c2e6bc, 0x9d0d7afc, 0x00000000)

Anyone know what the issue is and how I can remedy it?

Bad driver somewhere. Boot into safe mode and check device manager for any issues with your hardware drivers (warning icon). 90% of the time it's your sound driver.

Can you boot into your administrator profile rather than your user profile?
