Lian-Li PT-FN04 Fan Controller under-powered

Thread Starter
Finally wired up my Lian-Li PT-FN04 fan controller and it can't handle more than 2 Scythe slipstreams per channel... I need to get 4 fans per channel... And I can't find anywhere what the rating is per channel for this controller.

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_48&products_id=27613

With 3 or more fans, they draw too much current and it can't handle it.

Any ideas how I could mod it to do better? Or a better knob style fan controller that can handle 4 fans per channel?

It's 10w per channel

I'd go with the sunbeam rohebus from that site.

Rated for 30w per channel biggrin.gif

Dude, I just dropped the equivelent of $79 on a controller today, lol.

http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/Lamptron-6-Channel-Fan-Controller-FC-Touch-Black--FC0092H-pid-13028.html

I like it because of the anodized aluminum. I went with that because it'll really match up with my Corsair 800D

That one might be better, I dont' need 4 fans per channel so that's why I went with 30w.

I guess it's also about the capacitors on the controller itself. HWC did mention the build quality of the fan controller I baught today.

I just got the Lamptron FC-2 in, and it runs great, handles 4 fans no problem! MUCH better than the Lian-Li PT-FN04.
