recommend good but cheap z68 motherboard

Can anyone recommend a good but cheap z68 motherboard? seems like the cheapest ones in newegg are ASRock and Gigabyte.

Are both brand pretty reliable? Gigabyte seems a better brand but ASRock is cheaper and got pretty good review too. Want to know if anyone owns those MB and can provide some suggestions.

I concerns if it is stable under Overclock to 4.5G to 4.7G

Both brands are very good and reliable. Asrock is really good, as they are a sub-brand of Asus. Their quality is pretty close to that of Asus brand motherboards but are much cheaper. Gygabyte is also very good, IMO they make the 2nd best motherboards next to Asus. Of the mobos that you linked in the OP I would go with either the ASRock Z68 PRO3 LGA 1155 or the GIGABYTE GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 LGA 1155 and staying away from microATX mobos since they usually don't have as much vram as their full ATX counterparts. If you plan to SLI then go with the GIGABYTE GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 LGA 1155 if not then you can save money and get the ASRock Z68 PRO3 LGA 1155. Both should be able to get you to AT LEAST 4.5ghz and if you have a decent SB chip you can probably reach 4.7ghz no problem.

Im actually in almost the same dilemma.

with 10 bucks more.. if you get gigabyte and in the US.. u get 3 years warranty..

with asrock, just 1 year. frown.gif

ASRock:

+8pin MoBo connector

Giga:

+SLI/CFX but 4 pin mobo connection only.

I wish I could evaluate more frown.gif

I am not worried about the extra 10 dollar. I am just concerned the MB quality. I was hoping someone already owns the Z68 MB can give some insightful information.

Good to know and good for you.

For 210+ USD it's not what the OP wants.

Why did you not get the ASRock Extreme 4?

diagnostic LED
CMOS Clear Button
PLX for the 3rd PCI-E lane?
minus 2 year mf warranty tho
Front/Back USB 3 Brackets?

do you really use the built in Blue Tooth?

Just curious.
