360 games aren't based on XP code.

They are most likely written in C++ which most games are written in.

Also what a large part of XP, Vista and 7 is written in.

But 360 games are not based on any "xp code" whatsoever.

Hmm.. That's what I was thinking

less brain resources for aiming
more for overall strategy

but oh well.. they "m/k" brigade still have a point

just my opinion xD peace! I'd rather have a console right now tho.. but I don't have MONEH for it I wanna play with kiddies cuz of my mental age LMAO

M$ will have to either make a very efficient emulator to emulate the 360's hardware, or better yet, have a driver/program/application that will run the C++ and translate that into being able to run on x86-64 CPUs and modern GPUs. Alternatively they could just do what they did w/ the 360 concerning backwards compatibility to the orig. xbox. Limited emulators for limited games. That would suck.

I'd really like to see 360 games with custom configurable graphics options. I can't imagine it would be too difficult ot get the game engine to just render at a higher resolution or add some more MSAA. Most 360 games already have at least 2x MSAA, so the engines support it.

Regardless, I have mixed feelings. I've always wanted to play some 360 exclusives on my PC, especially w/ extra eyecandy. However, if all 360 games were able to be played on the PC, devs will pretty much just dev for the 360 until the next console comes out.

It's actually simple for them to 'fix' the issue where PC users couldn't compete online with console users, just state a requirement that a 360 controller must be used on the PC when using the 360 application. Plain and simple.

Difference between the two? Only one of those is the truth.

Or better yet, just officially support mouse and keyboard on the 360. Wouldn't take that much driver writing, etc. PS3 already does it.

360 owners can't complain when they get their arses handed to them by PC gamers, since they have the ability to be on the same playing field.

Alternatively, they could have different "lobbies" set up. You know, like, Controller Only, Mixed, Mouse/KB only, like that.

What a great idea! Let's alienate the majority of our market!

The majority of console gamers want to sit on their sofa with a controller, not at a desk with a mouse and keyboard. You start letting folk play with a kb&m, then you alienate the majority of your market who are sofa gamers.

All in all, terrible idea.

I thought emulating a 360 game well on a PC without any glitches or performance problems is extremely hard to do?

It's not alienating if it's an option rather than a requirement.
