What mouse/grip to use?

Thread Starter
Hi guys. So I have a bit of a weird problem - I can't fully rotate my right forearm so that my palm faces downward. The most i can get is about a halfway turn. This makes it really hard to use a mouse, since I have to bend my arm at an unnatural angle. My elbow kinda sticks out, so I have trouble moving the mouse up and down with my arm.

My current mouse is the Razer Abyssus. I'm trying to learn the fingertip grip as I read that no arm movement is required. However, I still have trouble controlling the mouse and it doesn't feel as natural as my left hand. And i can't switch to my left hand either cause then my keyboard hand would suck .

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good mouse/grip for me, so that my condition won't affect my gaming performance. I mostly play RTS games, so quick and accurate mouse movements are really important.

Thanks guys ^^.

Unsure as to how good at tracking it is.

My grip is "ballclaw". I only move my fingers, not even my wrist.

In other words, I have a trackball (Kensington Expert). Really nice, I've had no issues with my right wrist after dumping the Logitech G5v2 in favour of this.

If not using a trackball, I'd say get a mousepad with proper wrist support, let your wrist rest on it and just train to move the mouse with only your fingers. It's more precise than other grips, too.

EDIT:

According to reviews, that mouse is absolutely terrible anything other than FPS gaming, and may not be so great even at that...

Use this, you can use it at the angle you are looking for. I have one I just recently retired in favor of an actual gaming mouse but for all-purpose anywhere use mouse this is king right now.

I considered getting one of those trackball mouses, but I was afraid the tracking wouldn't be as good. And it seems kinda hard to move one of those from side to side.

@Aeonus - Wow, you don't even move your wrist? That sounds hard . You don't move your arm at all either? That seems like a valid option for me. How long would it take for me to get precise accuracy with that grip? I'm assuming I'll have to use pretty high sensitivity too.

What if you tried using it on a vertical surface instead? The side of your desk for example.
Or make yourself a wedge that sits at 45 degrees so the surface is at a better angle.

i use the finger tip grip for best control... it takes some time getting used to though, it's also alot more tiring for the hands to use..

EDIT: just fully read the op lol, how about the flat finger grip where the wrist lays parallel to the mouse?
