[Anand] 27-inch Apple iMac Review (2011) - Page 3

This is a good computer if you can deal with the all-in-one aspect of it. Personally, I would not spend so much money on an all-in-one. Too many headaches once the warranty runs out/voided.

Eh. The games that are available for OS X aren't overly graphics-intensive. And as it is, that mobile graphics chip is just slightly worse than a 6850 I believe. Probably won't get 60fps at that high a resolution, but hey, if you want to buy a computer for gaming... we all know the rest.

Check the prices of 27" IPS monitors, all-in-ones, and Sandy Bridge builds with a mobile high-end GPU.
Well it is overpriced none the less. You can get something way better for $1700

Where can I find an all-in-one with a 27"+ IPS monitor, KB+Mouse, Sandy Bridge, OS, and high-end GPU?

It actually is a not too bad machine for the price. What makes it worthy is the IPS panel, and honestly the specs aren't that bad at all.

An iMac with a 3.4GHZ i7 quad core, 16GB of DDR3 RAM, a 2TB HDD + 256 SSD, an AMD HD 6970 2GB and an Apple magic mouse will cost like $3,600usd, a custom rig with those specs (including monitor, keyboard, mouse, webcam, etc) will be like $500USD cheaper, but still, I don't think it's overpriced when you really think about it

I don't know that I would call an HD6770M Radeon "high-end"...even the HD6970M doesn't keep up with my El Cheapo HD6850 in Metro for example.

That aside, yup.

The HD6970M is just a lower clocked (13% core/10% RAM) HD6850.

Don't forget this is a mobile part so the TDP is lower. To be clear, it is a high-end mobile GPU.

The monitor is on par with other monitors in the 200-400 CAD range.

BY MY UNDERSTANDING. They didn't really give that good of a review on the display itself.

Not sure I'd call a 6770m a high-end mGPU

Damn, someone beat me to it. Point remains though.
