I`m not shure want you want to hear. In fact there will be a change but it is so low you won`t recognize. I assume that you can`t tell the difference if an operation took 2 or 1,9985 seconds (just an example).
The 2 sticks run in dualchannel mode`. One stick will dwell in single chanel mode which is a tad slower (don`t know the exact numbers).
So it could be that there is NO change at all even you put higher frequency RAM into this system.
I didn`t even recognized a difference from 800ish DDR2 to DDR3@1456MHz (o.c.)
But maybe it isjust because i`m to slow
Cheer mate.

Run the 2 sticks for dual channel. The difference between speeds is insignificant for normal use (gaming).

Dual channel has an edge over single stick. Since your dealing with the same amount of ram.

If your mobo has 4 slots use all of the memory. 4 Gigs of ram is better than 2 gigs even if not 800Mhz.

LoL?
Did you read the OP? He has 1x2GB stick (800MHz)
and 2x1GB(666MHz) sticks. It is not the same amount, they are only 3 not 4 sticks and they are different speed plus timings(i assume)
Failed?

Thanks for the reply Guy's, well i have been thinking (now that could be dangerous lol) not sure if to buy another 2Gb 800 stick or just upgrade my mobo as the intel DG31PR socket LGA775 board is very limited... no OC options and only has 2 DIMM slots. i do like my pc gaming as well

Thanks
Steve.
