EpicGear MeduZa Hybrid Dual Sensor Technology Gaming Mouse - Page 2

200 IPS and 30G Acceleration sounds like a Philips Twin Eye PLN 2031 for the laser portion of this mouse.

Although, I did find it ironic how they specified "low 1mm Lift off distance @ Laser mode". Maybe they were able to prevent the Z-Axis issue? If that's the case, what the hell is the point of the optical section in this mouse?

Okay, ignore that. It's either an Avago ADNS-9500 or PTE PLN2032. The 2031 can only hold 4k CPI and this scales up to 6000. PLN 2032 can natively do 5600, but it's also rated for 200 IPS and 50G accel. The ADNS 9500 is natively rated for 150 IPS and 30G accel, although it's common knowledge that this sensor can hold 6000 CPI.

Now.. someone help me understand why they deliberately stated that "laser jitters", while the 9500 doesn't have that specific problem?

Gah. This mouse is one big ass contradiction.

If they ditched all the crappy LED stuff, it could prolly still be as "light" as a Kone or similar.
(Which is still too heavy imo )

So a3060 with ikari optical esque angle snapping and a 9500 with no angle snapping.

Switch to HDST mode? Heavy angle snapping almost like it's only using the 3060....In fact the dpi steps are the same, it feels the same....So i'll just cover the optical sensor so it only uses the 9500 in HDST mode!

This with the firmware out of the box.

So here's what I tried.

If I cover up the optical sensor in hdst mode, it will immediately not track.

If I cover up the A9500 sensor in HDST, the mouse will track for a brief 2 seconds and then stop dead.

edit2:

paint

Amusingly HDST feels the worst, also has the worst 3 m/s max speed. It's worse then optical and the laser sensors by themselves. Still haven't upgraded the firmware though. Button lag is bad.

Okay, updated to the last firmware release. Same everything. Mouse blows. I don't think I will even so much as play a game with it.

At least the final software version wasn't full screen and didn't play sounds.

edit: firmware 3.10 either eliminated or lowered the angle snapping in hdst mode
