PPD for a 955 BE

Thread Starter
Hey I was just wondering what the regular PPD is for a 955 at 3.6Ghz?

I also have a 965 BE at 4.25Ghz and its not much higher in PPD than what I'm getting on my Dad's 955.

I thought I heard people getting 3-4k with their 965/955's. 1.4k seems really low if so..

1.4k is very low. Have you completed 10 SMP units on your passkey to get bonus points yet? I used to get ~7k PPD from my 955 at 3.9.

Edit: After actually looking at the pic redface.gif the v7 client does not calculate bonus points. Use this with the TPF and project # and it will give you a better answer.

A quad @ 3.6Ghz should be getting ~7k PPD. But use the calculator linked above to get the actual PPD. wink.gif

One thing I have found to check for when ppd is off like this (actually I never saw it with smp folding, just gpu) is when you have two folding clients running on top of eachother. I have caught myself doing this several times and saying "why is the ppd so low today"?

Exean,if you look in "Task Manager" do you see all 4 cores being used at 100%? Myself, when I folded on my 955 I kept it at 3.8 (on water) and was able to find a nice comfy place the cpu liked to run, well within temp and volt limits. I really can't see a 965 being very cooperative when running 24/7 at 4.25. Mine needed 1.6v just to pass 1 hour of stress testing at 4.0, so I backed it down to 3.8 and everyone was much happier.

In the 3.7 GHz range, I get approx 4500 ppd with the million step units, 5500 ppd with the 11020 type, and anywhere from 7500 to 9000 ppd with most others depending on what they are.

This only happens when not GPU folding.
