$125 on a 4870X2 is a good deal, but I highly recommend that you get one of these coolers. The stock cooler is absolutely horrible.

I disagree on the 5850 idea, but agree on the GTX470. The 4870X2 is on par with the 5850 but with double the memory and it's faster. It also does NOT cost $140 on Newegg, more like $155 after a rebate which takes months. In most cases, my 4870X2 eats my friend's 5850. He gave me my 4870X2 when he upgraded side-graded downgraded to his 5850, and hates me for running most games smoother, BC2 included. 5850 overall was very overpriced on release.

Get the x2 and clock the proc as high as it'll go. Those chips can handle voltage heat pretty well and are cheap to replace anyway. You'll have a bit of a bottleneck, but not much. I was running the e8500 and x2 only six months ago. They were a good match.

Thanks a million. I was considering an old q6600 or a higher clocked c2d. I don't know much about the e8400 but heard it referenced a few times. I have a decent oc on the e6420 @ 3.2 but im sure its underpar to the others. Thanks again for the comments/comparisons. All GTX460's i've seen have been priced higher. I think it goes back to the comment that I doubt I'll find anything better for $125. Just a good deal with someone in the need of money. Hate to take advantage but then again.. i don't.
