Thread Starter
Looking to buy a laptop for the wife.

What is your maximum budget?
$500ish

What country are you in?
US of A, eh

What will be the uses of this laptop?
Maybe some wacom tablet/Corel Painter use, word processing. . Potential photo-editing.

Do you have brand loyalty or care which brands we select for you?
Dunno, she's kinda an HP nazi

What screen size do you require?
15.6 at least

What screen resolution do you require?
Dunno

Are you looking to buy NEW or would refurbished/recertified/used be okay?
New

How long should the battery last? (Under optimal conditions, no movies/games/heavy internet)
Whatevers considered normal. There's always an outlet nearby

What games would you like to play with your laptop? And on what settings?
Not much of a gamer.

What operating system do you need? (if any)
Windows, NOT Vista

Is there a certain style of laptop you want? (aluminum, black, gaming, etc.)
Nah

How much hard drive space do you need?
320ish and up

Do you need any special hardware? (blue ray, webcam, specialty ports, etc.)
USB ports, maybe Firewire (yeah, she still thinks she may use that some day "

Is there anything else we need to know?
Dunno...

Thanks guys

Well if you are going to watching a lot of it, I suggest looking for a 1080p display. But with that budget, you are very limited to 1366x768(720p).
