I doubt you had the cm storm spawn in your hands

the cm storm spawn has a better sensor, lower weight, more comfortable as theres a rest for the the pinky and ring finger, and a scrollwheel thats actually possible to click

so NO the g9x is not worth it over the cm storm spawn

The mx518 is a great shape for fingertip in my opinion. I used the G5 for years and I fingertip grip. I now have the Spawn and its definately the superior mouse. Just saying I guess.

Why can't I get the Spawn in the US? ... I really like the look of the mouse, but I can only find three online sellers in the US, and none of them look very legit...

lol, thank u rivaldog, whatever decision I make I'm sure I'll be happy

I do one a slight reservation about the cm spawn, and it's that ring finger pinky rest. On my mouse, and my previous mouse, I've always had those two fingers gripping the side of the mouse near the back, I feel I gain more control over the mouse. I've never had a problem with dragging my fingers on the table. With that rest there, I wouldn't be able to grip the back side of the mouse. I guess what I'm saying is that it will probably feel strange for a while. Any thoughts on this?

The mx518 has almost the same shape as the imperator. The imperator is a little smaller overall iirc.

I can guarantee you though, you will love the performance with both mice.
As someone who owned both mice, I beg to differ.
I was especially disappointed with the MX518's scroll wheel. It seems like Logitech just can't get wheels right. They can learn a lot from Steelseries or even Razer in that regard. Hell, even a cheap A4Tech I used had a better wheel.
The Deathadder has other problems, like no easily accessible CPI switch and slippery sides with no grip. Other than that it's not bad. (Until you drop it from a 5 cm height and it cracks.)

IMO, it isn't. I just don't like the grip of the G9X. But try and see for yourself. Also, I can't really take a mouse with weights seriously, but that's more of a personal issue.

Nah, the 518 is a bit higher in the middle. It's noticeable.

OP, let us know if you're happy with the CM Spawn. It looks like a no-gimmicks mouse that focuses on usability. Another one of a comparable size (a tad larger) is the Xai, but it's expensive and I'm not sure if the shape is ergonomic. OTOH, the Ikari has a great shape. Kinda similar to the Spawn, but larger, so maybe not what you're looking for.

In all honesty, I never really heard any one else complain about the mice, but definitely can't resist the fact that those two mice are the most highly recommended on here. With mice there's a lot of personal preference, I'm sure there is some one out there that loves the way logitech makes their wheels, and of course some one who dislikes them (I know this guy called early on OCN I think he dislikes them ) lol

I've never heard horror stories like the Death adder cracking from a small height like that before, bad luck? Who knows xp But I do hear a lot of people recommending the scotch tape trick, I wouldn't do that if I owned the mouse but that's just me.

I'm pretty sure it's ambidextrous

I went for the cm storm spawn in the end. I haven't actually heard anything bad about it yet, and it's cheaper than all the other mice I was looking at, so went for it. I'll let you know how I get on with it when it arrives
