Best laptop for my needs.

What is your maximum budget? Around $400.

What country are you in? USA.

What will be the uses of this laptop? Schoolwork, word processing, etc.

Do you have brand loyalty or care which brands we select for you? I am partial to the Thinkpad and Latitude lines, but no.

What screen size do you require? At least 15.6", and fullscreen is a plus.

What screen resolution do you require? I don't care.

Are you looking to buy NEW or would refurbished/recertified/used be okay? Yes it would be.

How long should the battery last? (Under optimal conditions, no movies/games/heavy internet) 5 hours.

What games would you like to play with your laptop? And on what settings? Diablo 2, really light stuff.

What operating system do you need? (if any) I like Windows XP, or even Win2K. Linux support is a must.

Is there a certain style of laptop you want? (aluminum, black, gaming, etc.) Black, preferably.

How much hard drive space do you need? At least 60gb, but not a huge issue.

Do you need any special hardware? (blue ray, webcam, specialty ports, etc.) Nope.

Is there anything else we need to know? Not that I can think of.

I've gotten it pretty much narrowed down to these three:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...989&CatId=4938
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?EdpNo=7257743
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...070&CatId=4965

I read a lot of things about the A6000 being very unreliable. So, these three are my choices.

Any ideas?

T61's are very nice laptops. And will last for pretty much as long as you want it to. The build quality is just amazing.
