haf x - front fan rpm

Thread Starter
I just built a new pc with i7 2600K, asus p8 z68v, corsair 850w ax, and haf X.

I notcied an issue with the front fan of the haf x. Its only spinning right now at 463 rpm and it makes a faint buzz. Just checking to see what the normal speed should be.

Thanks.

is it plugged into the mobo or into PSU? PSU will run the fan at high speed and the mobo will control it based on the fan profile you use.

it's plugged into the mobo. running prime95 now and see the rpm is up to 680. but if i put my ear next to the fan, i still hear the faint buzzing. it's different from just air blowing.

getting a load temp. of 57-61 celsius on cpu right now.

That faint buzz might just be your hard drive right behind the fan. The temp you are getting is fine for your CPU.

Am using a solid state. It seems the buzing noise seems to be gone now.

maybe i just had to let the fan run some.
