Would a 5770 for 2 4870's be a good deal?

Thread Starter
I recently upgraded to a 6870 and I am wondering if I should trade my 5770 for 2 4870's. The guy I will be trading to is in my school so I could pretty much guarantee nothing is wrong with them. He said they have been used pretty much every single day since 2009 and they have no warranty left since he bought them used on eBay.

As for my 5770, it is still in really good condition since I don't PC Game that often. The voltage has never been adjusted.

Would this be a good deal? I would probably buy a Crossfire MB and put them into crossfire, and use the new rig as a back-up gaming rig or something since I have some spare parts.

Edit: The spare PSU I have is a really crap 600W PSU. Hopefully that will be enough to power both cards if I go through with it.

seconded that NO.

A 5770 is far better, you will lose DX11 capability, and even crossfiring the two 4870's you STILL will never get the performance of a single 5770.
In addition his 4870's came to him used. They are crap compared to the 5770. Please do NOT do this trade!

Nope.

Edit: The power draw, loss of new tech and DX11, extra heat output, Crossfire issues, etc make it not worth the small performance bump(I think 2 4870s match up right around a 5850)

I thought it was a good deal?

Isnt a 4870 have slightly better performance than 1 5770?

Hes doubling up performance by trading a 5770?

Why is it not worth it?

EDIT:

I am officially confused why 2 4870s in CF cant beat a 5770?
Wouldnt 2 4870s be somewhere closer to a 5870 in performance?

It would be more powerful, you'd merely be lacking dx11.
