Your argument would be helped more if you didn't agree with me.

Like you said, it's transitioning towards a niche market.
If that's not "becoming harder to find", then what is?

would love to have a WUXGA monitor but those bastards cost way more, usually because they feature better internals as far as I know.

But since I don't live in a very wealthy country i'm happy with my 1080p samsung.

Don't know how I lived with myself when I had a 19" 1280x1024 monitor, dark past it is.

That it's just as easy to find, you just need to pay more...

Or even 1 pixel vs 2 pixels IF it happens to line up just right. This makes enemies far away easier to see.
Oh my goodness, someone else who actually understands it.

In our example, running at our monitors maximum resolution, at 2048x1536, while you get less FOV than any 16:9 or 16:10 resolution, you get more detail than even 2560x1440! (let alone 1200p or 1080p, only 2560x1600 gets more, and then just barely) Even at 1600x1200, you'd get more detail than 1920x1080 (and the same detail as 1920x1200), just less FOV as a result obviously.

In a world where, currently, games are mostly "hor+", the second number denotes how "high" your resolution really is.

Few people seem to truly understand the FOV and detail aspects when it comes to resolution. They just assume the age old higher is better, and think if it's higher on the Windows slider or the game settings slider (which arranges them by the first variable), it's better in detail because it's a "higher" resolution.

I wish that resolution was more common.
800x600@144hz, sometimes 1152x864@100hz if i need the detail. desktop is generally 1920x1440@77hz

most often i find it feels like cheating with less pixels to aim at, so i keep it at 8x6.

go ahead, pick on my preferences mainstream jerks. ;D
