I'm gaming on a 21" CRT because I can not stand LCD for gaming.

I can run 1280x1024 @100Hz no problem, although I've settled for 1600x1200 @ 85Hz as my graphics cards can not stay above 100Hz in some games but stays above 85Hz at the higher res for some reason lol.

Why 1280x1024? that's a 5:4 ratio resolution. You have a 4:3 display. What you really should want is 1280x960. I've never understood why 1280x1024 stuck with CRTs.

Also, refresh rate is often more limited by the vertical amount of pixel fields more than the horizontal amount. You might be able to get 120Hz if you go that way.

I got a 5:4 CRT in my basement. I think the physical aspect ratio is 5:4, actually.

Are you positive? I'm sure some exist, but most are overwhelmingly 4:3. I think 1280x1024 just stuck because of the 1280x1024 LCDs that were so common at the time.

2048 x 1152 but it wasn't an option in the poll.

I'm quite positive that this individual was 5:4

I got two random shadow mask CRTs that I don't use, one is 4:3 and can do some resolutions quite decently and so. It does 1600x1200 @ 85hz and is as clear as any LCD, at 16" of viewable area. (means I can do 2048x1536 @ 60hz, though I won't because of the flickering, otherwise usable at that res). Nearly flat surface too, though not completely flat like my F520

The other one can do 1280x1024 @ 85hz and the physical aspect ratio looks more like 5:4 to me. Though, I never used it extensively. This one ain't as good as the other one.

Dell 20" @ 1680x1050. Might end up getting a 1920x1080/1200 monitor this summer (depends if I want to spend the money or not).

Well I'm with you there, I wouldn't run a tri-SLI 580 setup on 1080p screen. Might do it for a month or so if I knew I was gonna upgrade shortly.

How many here really run tri-SLI @ 1080p anyways?
Says the guy who bought a 590 for 1200p...
