You know what's awesome on CRTs? You can fit high resolutions on relatively small spaces (my monitor is slightly taller than a 16:10 24", but not as wide) and it still does 2048x1536. These days I never use my side monitors (LCD monitors) for anything but youtube and temp monitoring. Why, you ask? Because I am utterly disgusted by the large text on the things. Eugh, it looks horrible.
This is also apparent in games. With 2xAA, my pixels are barely visible from a foot away, and thus making my games look like I'm looking through a window instead of a monitor. I was always annoyed by the pixellation on my 24" 1920x1200
And this thing is perfectly clear like any LCD at this res. It's just that the pixels are so small at that res that even 2xAA is enough to get rid of most of the jaggies at a foots distance. It looks absolutely amazing. Never again will I want to go back to 1920x1200 or 1920x1080. And this causes less eye strain at 2048x1536 @ 85hz than my LCD monitors because the other has backlight flickering and the other has dithering...
