Looks like my predictions were right, but it was pretty obvious. 1920x1080 is used by pretty much everyone, 1920x1200 is becoming scarce to find, and many like me have 1680x1050 monitors from a while ago. The TN panel on my monitor is better than most of the crappy TNs coming out now, so I think I'll wait until a 24" 1920x1080 IPS monitor comes out at under $300 so I don't lose any screen real estate.

yes I know, and as I said even in the states it's not guaranteed... You just can't count on finding good deals. I hate it when someone says that they got a product for 50% off the retail price and then proceed to say that buying the product in question is a much better idea than buying something else, just because the person himself got a very nice deal.

Just do not rely on deals, doesn't work.

Well that's interesting. But sure, go ahead.
What's so interesting about that? You said that some of us have hundreds of dollars spent on GPUs and WC setups right? Did it occur to you that just because a guy spends hundreds on something doesn't meant that he still has hundreds to spend on something else?

And about that 1000$ scenario: What would you do? I know you'd ditch the WC setups but let's say that you took that too. How would you spend the money? Get a monitor and a GPU that can't run games well enough at a high resolution?

and Off-topic: I really want to see some nice monitors in the future. Now it just seems like every manufacturer keeps releasing new 1080p displays again and again.

But what is the point in getting a WC setup and tri sli 580s if you run 1920x1200? Not getting WC and only getting 2x 580 could get you a 2560x1600 monitor. You could still run it very well, and you would be a lot more happy with the purchase you made.

2560x1600. Single greatest resolution around baby!

The surround stuff is cool but they need to take care of the bezel problem before I give it a serious look.

+100. I really, really don't understand people who spend $1500+ on video cards to drive a 1920x1080 monitor. Makes ZERO sense.

EDIT: Despite the proliferation of cheap 1080 panels I am proud to see so many people running the superior 16:10 aspect ratio. Good on ya' mates!

Although my monitor is 21", it does 2048x1536, so that + good eyes means I can see you better than you me in BC2.

Look at the bottom pic... once I went there I can't find myself going back...even when it's 1920 x 1080 on the 47" LG in the backround.

oh so now we're talking about thousands of dollars? And all this time I thought you said hundreds...

Well I'm with you there, I wouldn't run a tri-SLI 580 setup on 1080p screen. Might do it for a month or so if I knew I was gonna upgrade shortly.

How many here really run tri-SLI @ 1080p anyways?
