Is this the right dielectric grease to use in my socket?

So I bought some dielectric grease but the auto store I went to didn't have a tube and only a pressurized can of the stuff. When I depress the nozzle on top it comes out slowly and it's QUITE thick. It's also clear and not light tan like I've seen before.

Is this the proper kind?

It's probably too heavy duty compared to the "lamp" version.

grease in the socket is unnecessary even for extreme cooling like Ln2. Trust me, I know from experience.

just make sure to insulate the motherboard well so it doesn't start acting funky or die from moisture.

I'm just trying to be extremely safe as I cannot afford a short. BTW how do you like Dragon Skin? I'm planning on buying some to insulate my board, or do you recommend something else?

if you really REALLY do not want the mother board to die, using a conformal spray then coating the motherboard (not the socket) in vaseline & using neoprene to insulate. although that is very very overkill....

What kind of cooling were you planning on using anyway?
anything down to DICE should be perfectly fine with eraser and paper towels...

24/7 window unit evaporator coil dunked in a tank. Fluid temps of probably -10c-10c at all times in a very humid climate. (Florida)

just use a lot of paper towels and eraser around the socket

I kind of wanted to coat the entire motherboard and back of video card just in case a barb happens to leak, or something springs. (And that's a lot of eraser.)

Is there anything wrong with Dragon Skin as mentioned earlier?

Well you can check out my progress in my thread, running into some problems but nothing detrimental.
