@Mit Namso

I'm averaging 20-30Fps on High 1680x1050. Going over 40fps is rare. Reason I uninstalled this game from my pc. Horrible performance :C.
I also only have the option to go upto 8x AA but it doesnt bother me much as i cant tell much difference between 4x AA and 8x AA on my monitor.

Hotfix 11.5b has given me about a 8 - 10fps boost in Dirt 3...colours still pants though

Dont know how far to push my 6950 in terms of OC...I have reached 900 / 1400 @ 1.16v and i'm kinda scared to push it anymore...whats safe for this card clocks and voltage wise?

Up to ~1.2V is pretty safe for 24/7, after that the more experienced here said it starts to cut into the life span of the card a bit

What view distance/detail distance... are you using in GTA4

thats very low outside fps

and the voltage doesn't affect the VRAM

I found GTA4 good at finding instability in my OC, as core clock would glitch differently from VRAM glitch, and the game wouldn't completely freeze the PC, after a moment, it would kick out to windows with the game still running, so I would adjust the OC, and click back into the game

But the free program "furmark" is the common test for GPU stability, just make sure to CRANK the fan right up to 100%, because it runs HOT

I have GTA IV, and CoD BO, and i have 0 issues tbh, runs perfectly smooth with good fps, i've not seen any stuttering either. My GPU is not unlocked btw, Just overclocked, i seen to reason what so ever to unlock it when it plays near all games fine as it is, have you noticed that most people mentioning problems with games on the 6k series gpus have them unlocked?

coincidence?
Just thought I'd input with GTA4, had a few stuttering issues with everything maxed but bringing down the draw distance etc to 75% each helped, then out of curiosity I enabled v-sync and everything plays smoothly. Not tried upping the draw distance again yet though.

I had the graphics settings everything high and the slider bars for view distance etc only set to 50 on each. I dont have v-sync enabled though, might try that. Don't get me wrong, it is playable but not as good as it was. In the benchmarking mode i get 65fps but not in the actual game itself. Turning off night shadows seems to help...when the game is running at night seems much smoother

i dont apply the overclock 24/7 on either my CPU or GPU. Both are only enabled when playing games. All other times they run at stock speed

Used Kombuster before and it never went about 63 degrees maxed out and thats with 55% fan speed

**update** GTA IV Lost and damed runs at 50 fps when driving aong the coast but about 38fps the second you see a tower block / building on the screen...it drops to 26 fps sometimes aswell. Very playable but still not as good as i had hoped considering I upgraded my card and performance has dropped in this game.

Could be RTA (response time acceleration) setting on your monitor?

Did you do the bios mod yourself and/or have you tried other bios'?

Or is it a 6970 flash they can have some wierd effects.

have you tried lowering the memory clock?

Most 6950's I've seen don't gain much performance over 1375-1400 anyway.
