First of all, I know most people would recommend a pair of Sennheiser headphones and a clip-on/desktop mic, but I'm after a pair of headphone that will work with my PC and Xbox 360 (Using an Astro Mixamp). This is why I want a headset.

After reading countless reviews and threads, I still cannot decide between these two headsets. I have a rather large head and ears and I wear glasses. I'm looking to use the headset on the PC and 360 with a Mixamp. Comfort is key; I want something that won't crush my oversized ears or head for 5-6 hours, maybe more. I have an Amazon discount voucher so I can get the Steelseries headset £5 cheaper than the Razer. Which should I get?

Comfort is the main factor for me personally.

Main factor being comfort, I can tell you the Carcharias will blow you away. You can literally wear these things indefinitely and never feel a thing. It's wonnnndddeeerrful lol

I've just been told by many people that these two headsets have very little between them and I was wondering if anyone with a big head & ears (No offense) like me could comment?

I've been debating on which one to buy for a while because there's no stores nearby where I can buy and simply return them if I don't like them so I have to order online and as soon as I try them on, I can't return them, so I want to make sure I get the most comfortable pair out of the two to use on 360 and PC.

I don't think I've got a particularly small head, but I have the Caracharias set to their smallest setting, so plenty of expansion room for people with bigger heads.

I can wear these things for many many hours and just forget I've got them on. Apart from the ear cups, I think one of the main comfort factors come from a kind of dip in the centre of the very soft pad along the inside of the top. This take away any pressure from your crown, which is what I found uncomfortable on other headsets after extended use.

The sound (and mic) is fine, but if comfort is your main concern, then I certainly recommend them.

I am suprised people are recomending the caracharias... IMO the steel series are superior and I have used both. I personally like the 5hv2 over the siberia v2's however. The 5hv2 feel like they will last longer too. The razers fit a little more loosely than the ss and seems like they allow a little more ambient noise too (not sure if your going to be playing in a lan envoirnment but that is something to consider). The original 5h were not that comfertable, but they really beefed up the amount of padding on the v2's and they are very comfertable and I do have a large head (my new era hat size is like 7.5 lol). Directional sound I deff have to give it to the steel series, they designed these headphones to emphasize the sound frequencies of footsteps in games (at least thats what they claim) either way whatever they did it works. Oh and I played cs 1.6 at the highest levels so a good headset for fps was always towards the top of my list for peripherals.

I mean I have Turtle Beach X11s and I'm guessing either of these headsets would be more comfortable. Does anyone know how big the Siberia V2 and Carcharias' earcups are compared to the X11s?
