I have this weird RAM problem.. please help me..

Just recently my computer cannot boot up at all, as i have fiddled around with my mobo and everything.. long story short, i found out that my RAM caused the boot up problem..

now the Weird problem is that one my RAM stick caused this problem and to enable my computer to boot up again, i have to heat up this problematic RAM stick by giving my own hot breath around the RAM stick or with heater (its winter now at my place) and put the RAM stick back to the mobo and voila! it worked again.. the problem is i have to do this everyday and everytime i wanted to boot up my computer.. ;(

anyone has perhaps an idea to tackle this problem? please help.. its frustrating me.. anyone ever encounter this kind of problem??

*PS: plz don't tell me i don't need to off my computer forever or buy new RAM..

Well your RAM is definitely not functioning properly. It sounds like your RAM has a cold boot problem where it needs to have some electricity flow through it to heat it up to make everything work properly. Once the transistors and everything heat up then it functions properly. You can bump the voltage up for your RAM a little bit. But your RAM is definitely having issues and needs to be RMA'd or replaced. Sorry bud

crap.. RMA too expensive for me cuz im in australia and they dont have free shipping to my country sadly.. so if i were to send there and get back it would have cost me around the RAM price itself.. not worth it.. its DDR2 lol.. ;(

i wish its summer now.. LOL.. i hope it fixed itself.. *finger crossed*

Barring being able to replace the ram or rma it, up the voltage to it. the extra voltage going in will cause it to heat up faster on boot up and may eliminate the issue for now. Do not give it more voltage then the max voltage for that series of ram chip though.

ive tried to up the frequency for one of the stick it works fine for 1~2days.. after that it goes back to normal unbootable.. that is by increasing the frequency of the RAM..

I'm now testing my RAM by increasing the voltage by 0.10v.. hope it works.. ;(
