Keep the X4 925 or not ?

Thread Starter
Hi everyone, so, I bought a used Phenom II x4 925 c3 stepping (processor only) from US, and waited about 3 weeks for it and now it's finally here but with customs and handling charges slapped on it (£20) bringing the total cost to £88/145USD which methinks is not worth it and I'm thinking of sending it back, so... should I ?

Umm, so you have it already? You get all the charges reimbursed for sending it back? That sounds weird. Seems like you would have to pay again. If you can get a full refund and do not want the cpu then I guess.

wow that is alot of money for an older cpu.... where are you located?

No I don't have it, but I may be able to refuse to pay customs and have Royal Mail send it back to seller at a small charge.

I wouldn't take it, especially at that price, I would wait Bulldozer to hit the market, older technology should lower in terms of price.

why not just keep it and use it for another build (back up purposes maybe?) could be useful if your current proccessor bugs out or got another motherboard and can accept the proccessor.

gonna cost you more if you wanna send it back soo why bother putting out more money when ya can do what i suggest above.

Nvm, I'll strive to send it back, as for £20 more I could get a 910e and I'd rather invest money in a proper AM3+ board, thanks for the replies.

Send it back mate, you can get a brand new 955BE for 83 quid now, +3.99 delivery. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/amd-p...hz-125w-retail

[EDIT] If you're gonna upgrade your Mobo, there's no point upgrading your current rig (I'm assuming you've a limit of 95w?).
Save up and hit some reduced "new" Phenom's and chuck 'em in your new Mobo, or just get a quad-core Zambezi.

60's and 80's here and there for something you're gonna upgrade soonish is a bit of a waste.
