So you're plugging in the graphics card via DVI and it's saying unsupported? What resolution is your monitor? Have you tried going into Nvidia control panel and assigning a profile for your TV?

As in you already have 2 monitors connected, and want the TV too? You can't do that with Nvidia.

8800GT - NVIDIA
Catalyst - ATI/AMD

Catalyst are the drivers for ATI/AMD cards. The 8800GT is an NVIDIA card. Drivers won't fix your problem anyways. You need to set the resolution in the NVIDIA Control Panel to something that your TV supports.

the TV supports 720p and 1080i

Nvidia control panels says native of 1280x1024 (native)

I have used the VGA-DVI cable and now onto the HDMI-DVI cable and still no go !!

You might want to try Windows' resolution compatibility mode first.

Connect the TV up via DVI or VGA, either one.

Before Windows boots up, press the F8 button (as if you were going into Safe Mode) and on the F8 options list, select Enable VGA Mode. This will force boot Windows with 640x480 resolution. This should work, and then you can set your resolution to match your TV.

Worth a try!
