What to buy, Allround monitor?

Thread Starter
I'm going to move to another house soon. It will have bigger rooms, therefor i decided to buy a new TV that will be hooked up to my PC.
However i have trouble finding out what would be best in my case.
It's going to run on the system in my sig.

It will be used mostly for watching Full HD movies (blu ray)
But i also wish to game on it now and then, including FPS games.
What bothers me is that i see screens up to 400Hz. But if i recall correctly, the human eye can only scense up to 60hz.

I would like a nice color, fast (no lag when gaming), and mostly very effecient.

Any suggestions or info is welcome
Thanks!

Nice colours and black levels? Get an IPS or C-PVA panel.
Fast, no lag, get a TN panel.

The human eye has a "framerate" of only 24 fps.
But we can notice the difference between 60Hz and 120Hz, especially in fast-paced games. If you play a lot of fast FPS and would like the best response times, you should look into 120Hz monitors.
