the best silent case for high pitch noise

Thread Starter
since i havent been able to solve my whine by FIXING the "problem" (i recognize you have some hardware that just make alot of noise and you cant do anything about it) i have decided to look into cases that stop noise

the case needs to stop HIGH PITCH noise this is the only factor that matters

the rest of the pc is super silent

i dont want to spend over 200 if i can avoid it and its important but not a deal breaker that a front usb is part of it

Something high freq will have alot of energy in the sound wave, making it challenging to dampen out I would put your efforts to solving this issue first, case later.

tbh, it would be better to find the high pitch sound. i had a similar problem and a case isn't going to hide the sound.
have you tested all your parts with counterparts when searching for the high pitch sound?

btw i suggest a p183

It sounds like a screaming capacitor. How old is the computer?

EDIT: Coil whine is another annoying high pitched sound. Where is the noise coming from?

i have read ppl posting how capacitors are not the ones that scream and a whole slew of things that go on but the only thing that seems to be the possible cause is

cpu
ram
mobo

i have swapped gpus and psu

i hear that cpu usually dont whine or cant (dont know whats true) and memory i dont know if it can cause whine

both gpu i have whine so i can assume safely its my settings or not the gpu

thing is i have kept everything stock

Wild guess, but could it be the power plug + wall socket?

Every now and then when something's plugged in (TV, cellphone charger, etc), I hear a high-pitched whine from the wall socket. When I unplug the cable, though, it stops.

Perhaps this could be your problem?

The antec P series is classic in this regard. The Fractals are copies of them. Either is just about as good as you're going to get stock. You could also try lining the case with 2" thick sound absorbtion foam like aurelex or no-name stuff. Would make a bit of a difference. I suggest P183
