SCYTHE KAZE JYUNI 120mm...

Thread Starter
Just purchased the slipstream kaze jyuni 120mm fan thats specs are SY1225sl12h 1600rpm,88cfm, 33dba. Using as a intake fan, and when first intalled the fan today i was getting normal 1600 rpm. As when the side panels of the case went back on the rpm shoots to 1900+. Im cool with it, but just never had this happen with case fans.

Is it connected to your motherboard? if so that can be setting the percentage with the temp of the case... try seeing if it is set to 100% for all the time.

How are you measuring the RPMs? If you're just measuring it by noise, then you should know that some fans sound really loud when put up against a grill.

I understand that but the fan should not raise and lower..I know the rpm speed b/c i had it conected to the motherboard using hwmonitor to check.

I have the 1900rpm version (SY1225sl12sh). Mine does the exact same thing. Everytime I put my hand near the intake side, the RPMs jump up to ~2100. It must have some type of sensor. :shrug

Interesting. I'll have to try this intake restriction thing with my Slip Streams.

Could it be that you have a very restrictive grill or filter? Does it also happen when you leave the fan standing out of the case?
