Audio-Technica ATH-A700 or Audio-Technica ATH-AD700???

It would be for some games such as L4D2, Fallout:NV, Shogun 2, and Civilization 5...but also for music such as house, dubstep, reggae and hiphop...I would have it paired with my current soundcard in my sigrig...
Im not concerned with cost, but I do want to know what is a better value.

The A700s will have more bass and isolation. The AD700s are open, which I'm personally a fan of, but the bass won't be there.

The A700 would be the better choice for your overall musical taste, gaming, and movies (IMO).

As great as the AD700 is for positional cues in gaming and classical audio, it lacks bass and isn't really suitable for your selection of music.

Do you need to isolate the sound? (i.e. keep sounds out and keep sounds in) The A700s are great headphones and will have more bass than their open counterparts. Being closed headphones, they will also block out most outside noises. I am wearing mine right now...

Thank you for your advice, so the AD700 is better for gaming...and the A700 for music?

That is a definate pro that is keeps sounds in/out...im trying to get the best value out of my headphones, and since I unsure which would be a better fit, I am asking everyone here...thank you for taking the time to answer my posts...

you shouldn't think about it like that both headphones will be good for gaming and music it comes down to your personal preference.

if dont want any sound to leak get the A700, if you want something with a bit more bass get the A700's although i really dont think theres going to be that much of a difference between the two in terms of bass.

to me it comes down to closed or open headphones, neither of the two are bad headphones and certainly both are worth its price tag.

That is true, just needed some input on which give me a better value for my money...on one hand I have cheaper headphones that are open ear vs. more expensive ones that are closed ear...if there isnt a difference the AD700 would have better value...but everyone short of red recommends A700 so I am naturally interested on why that is...
