Headphones and Sound Card for Gaming and Music - Page 2

Thanks to everyone for your replies so far.
I'll most likely be going with either the JVC RX700s or Audio Technica A700s, not quite sure. I'll probably decide last minute.
I'm debating whether or not to get the Xonar DX over the Xonar DG. The DX, from what I understand, is overall a better card, but it lacks a headphone amp. Is it worth it?

DX over the DG? Not a chance.

Thanks for the quick reply man. I'll grab the DG for now since I can get it for $16.08.

You guys are going to hate me for being so indecisive, but I've changed my mind.
I think I'm going to grab a pair of headphones strictly for music, since I haven't been playing many FPS games lately anyway. I'll most likely be going with a pair of Grados. Though I'm not sure which model to get exactly. The SR80i's seem like my best bet, but the Alessandro M-1s are tempting as well. I'm open to any other brand/models though. What do you guys think I should go with?

I've seen Cuad post before saying a similar thing. Basically I guess he can't tell the difference between sound cards, even though other people can.

I don't think I agree with his reply. I think a DX is just simply a better card.

VanillaCena, uh can't really help you there. Maybe look around the forums.
Maybe check out some sound forums like head fi.

Even when strictly using headphones?

I wouldn't ask him. I don't think he's listened to either card.

You're using on-board and are in love with it.

That pretty much says it all.
