everything in a normal WC loop wouldn't be able to handle it. Basically even if you did make it able to withstand having something that cold, it would still be inefficient due to the amount off CO2 it offsets and how quickly it evaporates. The pump would have to be able to push gas and liquid, which wouldn't work.

Overall, there's multiple reason's why it wouldn't work.

If you put dice in your res your reusing the slush box idea but making it less efficient.

What is possible, if you are up for some experimenting, is to use a slush box. Basically you take your rad and dump it in a tray of water. Then add some ice, and a little salt, and you can go for some good, but temporary, OCs.

If you think of this so much, think on the other side of the fence.

When PC enthusiasts set records with new pc hardware, they use open benches with no tubing and just LN2. If it was possible to use LN2 instead of water in tubing than it would of been done by now, don't you think?

Besides, tubes blowing out is the least of your worries. How about all your hardware?
Also it evaporates too quickly so parts will get hot.

bubbles would get into your pump and stop circulating coolant. There would be a buildup of condensation.


The next best thing to do would be to build a water chiller. Hook up a standard DICE/LN2 pot to a waterblock in the loop and run it without a radiator.

It would also turn into carbonic acid. If you want your idea to work. Make a slush box. Run everclear in your lines, then insulate the tubing, and put the rad in box full of acetone and dice. There you have a nice cold slush box.

I never said anything about being the first person to come up with the idea, and I assumed that it had it's problems before posting. I wanted to hear people's thoughts and/or experiences because frankly, I'm not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to chemistry. I posted the thread looking for answers, I don't presume to be a genius. People here know more than I do, so I asked.

depending on the amount of DICE, explode

actually it would blast the tubing right off the barbs, thats probably easier than bursting the tubing apart
