After informing about this subject I can tell you this.
The ASUS has been out longer than the MSI Lightning meaning people had more chances of tweaking and testing it I think that is the main reason why there are more HWBOT scores of the DCII than with the Lightning.
In terms of cooling several reviews like for example TechPowerUp have said the DCII is quieter and better than the Lightning at full load.
In terms of overclocking one would think the Lightning would take the metal because of the 16x phases , better and more VRM´s and 2x8pin connector .
But although lacking those features the ASUS has managed to achieve just as high clocks if not higher which is really surprising to me.
Many speculators say that ASUS is cherry picking their chips in order to provide a better overclock.
So it comes down to your requirements.
If you can fit triple slot and don´t have the best airflow and SLI wishes you should get the ASUS.
If you would like to SLI in the future although SLI is not recommended with a non ref cooling solution since they all exhaust in to the case go with MSI.
MSI theoratically should be the better overclocker and coolingwise it is only very slightly inferior.
